Abiogen Pharma SPA, established in Pisa in 1997 from the acquisition by Merck Sharp & Dohme of Istituto Gentili has a history of research in Osteoarticular Metabolism, obtaining great success with the discovery of original molecules from the Bisphosphonates (Etidronate, Clodronate, Alendronate, Neridronate). TALL-104 is a cloned cytotoxic T cell line. The activity of this cell line is MHC non-restricted: it works in all people and indeed in animals against both hematologic and solid human tumours transplanted into SCID mice, including glioblastoma, prostate, lung, melanoma, and breast cancer. TALL-104 is also an effective adjuvant treatment for osteosarcoma and metastatic mammary carcinoma. IMMUNOTOXINS are monoclonal antibodies coupled to a toxic mojety represented by the mutate recombinant ricin A-chain (N97A). This project includes two 2nd generation ITs. The first generation ITs were tested in 159 patients in 10 clinical trials in Non-Hodking Lymphoma, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. cUV3 is a chimerized MAB that binds to CD54 highly effective in SCID mice with advanced human myeloma xenografts. Tetravalent antibodies (tetraMABs) are genetically constructed to double the number of binding sites per antibody producing a potent pro-apoptotic effect.
